| | Common Name: Hyssop-Anise |
A new, more compact agastache with a uniform habit. A very long bloomer, 'Honey Bee Blue' starts to produce 4-6 inch long, violet-blue, bottlebrush-like blossoms on strong, upright, well-branched stems in midsummer. It continues to bloom all the way into fall. The flowers are "self-cleaning", so deadheading will not be necessary to prolong the bloom time. Use this perennial to provide color in the garden late in the season when many other plants are finished.
This selection has aromatic, mint-scented leaves which can be picked and used fresh or dried to flavor tea.

Agastache should be planted in full sun and slightly alkaline soil. The most critical factor is good drainage. This plant will NOT tolerate wet soil, especially in winter. When planting, put a thick layer of gravel in the bottom of the hole and then mix more in with the filler soil. Native to the southwest US and Mexico, it is naturally heat and drought tolerant.
