Coreopsis 'Berry Chiffon' PP27414

SATIN & LACE™ Series

Common Name: Tickseed

This floriferous new Coreopsis forms a full, sturdy, upright clump of dark green, threadleaf foliage topped with white flowers with a vibrant raspberry red eye. They first appear in midsummer and continue through early fall without deadheading, with the raspberry color expanding to cover most of the flower’s petal surface in cooler temperatures.

‘Berry Chiffon’ is sterile, so it won’t seed around the garden and its foliage is very resistant to powdery mildew so you won’t need to spray it with anything to keep it looking great all season long.

Gardeners have loved threadleaf Coreopsis verticillata since the invention of ‘Moonbeam’ many moons ago. But those who garden in cooler climates have struggled to keep them from going dormant early in the season because that species is heat loving and not particularly cold tolerant. Master hybridizer Darrell Probst has found a way to give us Coreopsis with threadleaf foliage on more cold tolerant plants that look great and bloom for months without going dormant too early in the SATIN & LACE™ series. Even better, they are highly resistant to powdery mildew and have sterile flowers so they won’t seed all over the garden.
