Common Name: Hardy Ice Plant
Succulent, needle-like leaves studded with fluorescent pink, daisy-like flowers measuring 2" across make this semi-evergreen groundcover a sight to behold. Hot, sunny conditions keep the flowers coming all summer long. In fall and winter, the foliage develops good red fall color.
Ice Plant is used extensively as a groundcover in the SW United States, but is often treated as an annual in the East. It thrives in gravelly soil and is very drought tolerant.
