Heuchera 'Brownies'

Heuchera 'Brownies' Coral Bells

Common Name: Coral Bells

'Brownies' is a robust selection that produces a large dome-shaped mound of huge, chocolate-green leaves with purple-red undersides. It's a great plant for setting off lighter colored perennials in the landscape. It was hybridized by Thierry Delabroye of France.

Heuchera villosa is a large, late blooming species with very good heat tolerance. It is native to the southeastern United States and produces white flowers in midsummer.

Coral bells are easy to grow and blend easily with most other perennials in the landscape. Because of their low, mounding habit, they are often used as edging along paths or in containers. Try cutting a few of the tall flower scapes for fresh bouquets.
