Hosta 'Happy Dayz'

Common Name: Hosta

This brightly colored hosta livens up the shade garden with its sharply contrasting variegation and light lavender flowers in midsummer.

It is a sport of ‘Orange Marmalade’ with wider, more blue-green margins.  Leaves of good substance have yellow centers which brighten to parchment and margins that turn dark green in summer.  The leaves of adult vernalized plants are more cupped at the base compared to its parent.  Overall a quite distinct and cheerful hosta!

Hostas are exceedingly popular perennials in today's gardens due to their versatility in the landscape. Their subtle colors, tall flower scapes, and broad, coarse leaves fill a niche in garden designs that few other plants can achieve. Their large leaves provide excellent coverage for dying bulb foliage. Hostas also grow well in city environments where the air may be polluted by car exhaust, etc.
