Miscanthus sinensis 'Nippon'

Common Name: Ornamental Grass, Miscanthus

Compact clumps of dark green leaves with bright silver midribs arch gracefully as they sway in the wind. Beginning in midsummer, striking, deep wine-colored inflorescences emerge and then age to cream. They are complimented nicely by the blanched almond fall color of the leaves. This variety is similar to M. 'Gracillimus' but has slightly wider leaves and an earlier bloom time. It is a strong grower.

Miscanthus is versatile from a design standpoint; it can be used as a specimen, for massing or screening, in large containers, or at the pond's edge. Plant this grass where its wonderful winter interest can be enjoyed.
