Dianthus 'Coconut Punch' PP21876

FRUIT PUNCH® Series

Common Name: Pinks

This little perennial packs quite a punch!  Its 1½ - 2” wide, fluffy looking, fragrant, double blossoms are intricately pattered in contrasting shades of red and white.

The flowers open deep red with large white markings in the center of each petal.  As the flowers mature, the white markings expand and the red color lightens, leaving a wine colored ring around each petal.

This selection forms a grassy looking clump of grey-green foliage topped with relatively tall flower stems that are just the right length for cutting fresh posies.

Deer resistant, low maintenance and drought tolerant, attracts butterflies, fragrant, cute cut flower—what more could one want in a perennial?  The Dianthus FRUIT PUNCH® series delivers all that and more in your choice of four colors.  Double flowers stand like mini carnations atop a short mound of evergreen foliage in early summer.  A quick shearing after flowering will encourage them to rebloom in early fall.  Dianthus is just the right size to edge the front of the sunny border and use in combination containers.
